Optimally integrated:
cTablet Docking Station
With its novel cTablet Docking Station, paragon makes it possible to optimally integrate an individually configurable tablet computer into a compact car. As an example, paragon has connected a Samsung Galaxy Tab with the cockpit of a VW Polo at IAA 2011.
The new product is paragon’s response to the growing demand, especially from the younger generation, for the networking of mobile devices with the vehicle. Developed in cooperation with the iconmobile group, the cTablet Docking Station supports all current tablets using interchangeable inserts. It will be available as standard equipment and as an upgrade/retrofit sometime in 2012.
The cTablet Docking Station is installed in a double DIN slot using a latching adapter to connect the tablet computer to the vehicle. A USB connection enables battery charging while a Bluetooth interface supportsdata transmission. Both the hardware and software of the paragon solution can be updated independent of the vehicle lifecycle.
The perfectly and securely integrated tablet takes over the function of a head unit with content such as radio, climate control, navigation, Internet as well as telephony, and securely imports private data into the car. Authenticated access (via a firewall) protects the vehicle’s CAN bus against unwanted entry attempts.
